The Payson Police Department is encouraging all Payson residents to join in on the National Night Out celebration by holding a block party in their neighborhood on Tuesday, Aug. 2.
“It is America’s night out against crime and Payson’s “Night To Unite” to keep our neighborhoods safe,” according to a PPD press release.
You don’t have to live in a neighborhood of single family homes to get involved in a block party. Block parties can be held in many places besides traditional neighborhoods, including townhouse complexes, apartment buildings or mobile home parks. If you are interested in hosting a block party that will send a message to criminals that your neighborhood is organized and fighting back, contact Charlene Brown at the PPD, (928) 474-5242, ext. 220, e-mail cbrown@paysonaz.gov or stop by the department.
