Join docents on a road trip around the Rim Country to sites associated with Charlie Meadows, one of the founders of Payson’s World’s Oldest Continuous Rodeo.

Visit locations on historic Payson Main Street, Whispering Pines, and the Payson Pioneer Cemetery to learn about Charlie’s life in the Payson area, the founding of the rodeo, and Payson history.

“Arizona Charlie” himself will be your tour guide as you learn about Payson’s early days.  Local merchants will also dress the part to give you an authentic look at Payson in the late 1800s. The free tour will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, July 9. Call the museum at (928) 474-3483 to sign up.  Meet at Rim Country Museum in Green Valley Park to carpool.
