Outdoor Recreation
Dog First Aid and CPR
Date: Saturday, July 9
Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Police Department meeting room
Information: The American Red Cross Dog First Aid training course teaches the immediate and temporary care needed by an injured dog until it can receive medical care from a veterinarian.
Fly Fishing 101 and 102
Date: Saturday, July 23
Time: 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Green Valley Park
Information: This is a hands-on class. Bob Youtz, president of the Payson Flycasters, will teach the history and proper technique of setting up equipment and casting a rod. Rods are provided, however, participants are welcome to bring their own.
Fee: $10
5th Annual Rim Country Open Arizona Disc Golf Tournament
Date: Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24
Time: 8 a.m.
Location: Rumsey Park
Information: Arizona Disc Golf Club and Parks Recreation and Tourism Department are sponsoring a Professional Disc Golf Association PDGA sanctioned tournament. Participants at Novice, Intermediate and Professional levels will play 18 holes with three rounds of competition.

7D Barrel and Pole Series
Date: Wednesday nights
Information: Parks Recreation and Tourism will be sponsoring this equestrian event. The books open at 4:30 p.m. Time only run 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.; $3 dollars per run. Competition starts at 6 p.m. Entry fee is $8 per event. Side Jackpot, $5 with 50 percent payout. Jackpot participants must pay jackpot fee in cash.
