Wallow Fire Food Drive For Pets Was A Success

What a blessing the residences of Payson are. A local Payson family felt that God was calling them to help out His four-legged furry friends that have been displaced by the Wallow Fire.

On Friday an e-mail was sent to their church family at Mountain Bible Church. They asked KMOG if they could make announcements that they were having this pet food drive for Saturday to benefit all the animals. Walgreens and Del Taco graciously allowed them to use their parking lot as a place for people to drop off food and donations.

Rim Country Hay & Grain dropped off bags of dog food and the residents of Payson and even out-of-town visitors came by with pet food and cash. The truck and trailer started to fill along with the donation jar.

When the day was done, they headed to Payson Feed where the owners provided them with additional pet food, mostly at their cost. They purchased approximately 1,400 pounds of pet food. On Sunday morning this family headed up to Show Low with approximately 4,800 pounds of dog food, cat food, blankets, portable kennels and leashes, all donated.

A special thanks goes out to KMOG, Payson Feed & Pet Supply, Walgreens, Del Taco and Rim Country Hay & Grain.

Thanks again to the community for all of your help. What a great place to live.
