Horseshoe pitching club

The Payson Ringers meet from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday at 200 E. Rancho Road for friendly games of horseshoe pitching. All ages and genders are welcome. For further information, call Richard Skoglund at (928) 970-1169.

Payson Fly Casters/TU

The Payson Fly Casters Club/TU Chapter 530 will hold its next meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 25 at Tiny’s Restaurant. The meeting will follow breakfast at 8 a.m. All interested fly fisherman and women are welcome, as well as all Trout Unlimited members.

There will be a guest speaker, Aaron Citron of Tucson, the project manager for Arizona Land and Water Trust and Desert Rivers Initiative. He has concentreated on the rivers in southern Arizona, but is now looking to work on streams in our area also.

Republican Club hosts Senator Allen

The Rim Country Republican Club will meet Monday, June 27 at Tiny’s Restaurant.

The special speaker this month is Arizona Dist. 5 Senator Sylvia Allen. Her talk will include an update on wildfires and other concerns in Arizona.

Members and guests will gather at 11 a.m. to order lunch and socialize. The business meeting begins at 11:30 a.m., and at noon, Sen. Allen will speak.

Pine Library Friends

The Pine Library Friends will meet at noon, Monday, June 27 in the Library Activity Room located right behind the Cultural Hall in Pine. It will be a potluck, so those attending need to bring something good to eat. Beverage, plates and utensils will be furnished.

The meeting is open to the community, so bring a friend or meet some new ones. There will be no guest speaker because the time is for eating and visiting.

Overeaters Anonymous

Overeaters Anonymous meets from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays at the Rim Country Health & Retirement Community, 807 W. Longhorn Road, Payson. (After turning in driveway, turn right at first driveway. OA meets in the Community Room in the center of the facility’s apartment complex.)

Payson Raconteurs writing group

The organization Payson Raconteurs, a gathering of Payson-area writers, meets at 6 p.m. each Monday in a private dining room at Tiny’s Restaurant. The organization is open to new members. All serious writers are invited to attend and read their works-in-progress for critique. Dues are not required.

The Manifesting Abundance Group meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness, 107 W. Wade Lane.
