I live in the Woodland Meadows area and have a small dog that I walk daily around the neighborhood.
This I do for both my mental and physical health, as well as my dog’s. I have done this for almost eight years. For the first time, my dog was attacked by two large dogs who escaped from their fenced yard. Luckily, he wasn’t seriously hurt. I have noticed lately more loose dogs on the streets. This is a danger to all the older residents here who walk their dogs daily, as I do. Perhaps the owners feel that their dogs would not be a danger to anyone.
When a frightened small dog barks at a loose dog, often the loose dog will investigate and send the other into a frenzy which causes them to attack in some cases.
Now, because of loose dogs in my neighborhood, I am apprehensive every time I take mine out for a walk.
Please remind dog owners to leash their dogs and or keep them confined on their property. I want to feel safe again when walking my dog.

Carleen, Get a can of mace or a spray bottle with water and household ammonia in it and use it.! Call the police and tell them why you used it.
