The Coconino National Forest wants public feedback on its new plan to manage the forest for the next decade.

The new plan attempts to streamline the steps involved in reviewing various projects in the forest, especially those that might affect endangered species. The forest has posted its plan on its Web site: http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino/plan-revision.shtml.

Forest managers will also hold a series of public meetings to discuss the plan and its options. The closest hearing to Rim Country will take place on Friday, March 4 at the Mogollon Rim Ranger Station at 8738 Ranger Road, off Highway 87. The informal meeting will last from noon to 3 p.m., with rangers available to answer questions about the plan.

Anyone interested can also submit comments online at http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/ coconino/contact/index.shtml or by e-mail to coconino_national_forest_plan_revision_team@fs.fed.us Written comments may be sent to Coconino National Forest, 1824 S. Thompson, Flagstaff, AZ 86001, Attn: Plan Revision.
