The Heber Overgaard Rim Country Library has a proposed expansion and hopes to use volunteers to assist in the construction.
Even with recent light snows, our general temperatures continue to rise. With daytime temperatures that average in the mid 50s and night time has been hovering around the 30-degree mark, our winter appears to be waning.
Even with this change, we can still expect to have some hard freezing nights still ahead of us. With the snow melt, persistent water runoff continues to be present in our local canyons and creeks.
The Heber Overgaard Rim Community Library Board has called for bids in regards to an expansion of the Rim Community Library.
They are looking to build a 40-foot-by-36-foot addition onto the existing structure using a general contractor and volunteer help whenever possible in the interest of reducing costs in the construction. The primary responsibilities of the general contractor for this is obtaining the necessary permits, obtaining bids for materials, supervising construction and overseeing the project.
The bids are due today, March 4. The Rim Community Library Board will have a meeting Monday, March 7 at 2 p.m. in the multi-media room at the library. A presentation of annual finances and the past year’s statistics will be given.
Also, the year’s progress and goals will be discussed during the meeting. Whether or not the new expansion is on the agenda is unclear. The public is invited to attend the board meeting.
