Hello again, fellow Creekers.
Have you always wanted to go Down Under? To visit Australia? To see the roos and crocs? To learn the proper way to say G’day, mate?
Gary Anderson, former president of the Christopher Creek Homeowners Association, is organizing a trip to Australia and New Zealand for this fall. Three Creekers went with him the last time he took a group Down Under.
The trip will depart Phoenix on Sept. 26 and return Oct. 18. The trip will include 17 days in Australia, with visits to Melbourne, Alice Sprigs, Ayers Rock, the Great Barrier Reef, Cape Tribulation, Port Douglas and Sydney. There will be seven days in New Zealand with visits to Christchurch, Queenstown, a day on a sheep farm and a cruise on Milford Sound.
Gary will be having an informational meeting about the trip at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 6 at the Christopher-Kohl’s Fire Station. He will discuss the trip, show pictures, review the itinerary and answer questions. He will not play the didgeridoo. Come see if the trip is right for you, mate. Or contact Gary at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Help us wish firefighter Doug Blazer good luck at his new job at Rio Verde Fire. He started there on March 3, but he will still be filling in part-time at Christopher-Kohl’s Fire.
As a reminder, the fire board meeting is currently scheduled for March 14.
The CCVA meeting just convened and a lot of neat new ideas for some fun local events are being looked at. As those new events are voted on and put into action, I’ll be sure to “keep everyone in the loop.”
As always, I do need your help with content and stories! For anyone wanting to submit information from the Christopher Creek area for inclusion in our weekly article, please e-mail me at: email@example.com. Any submitted pictures must be full-size (typically around 1MB per picture). The cutoff time for inclusion in Friday’s article is close of business on Monday.
Thanks again for reading the column.
