The 13th annual Women’s Health and Wellness Forum is from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 12 at the Payson High School campus. Women of the Rim Country get to take several hours for themselves to learn about dealing with health issues, making use of healthy foods and more. They will even learn how laughter can help deal with stress from keynote speaker Elaine Lundberg, an international humor therapist. The cost is just $10.

Mardi Gras celebration

Rim Country residents and visitors are invited to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church’s annual Mardi Gras dinner celebration at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 8.

Children under 10 will be admitted free of charge, all others can participate for $12.50. There are only a limited number of tickets available; to reserve one, call St. Paul’s at (928) 474-3834.

The church is at 1000 N. Easy St., Payson, at the corner of Sherwood Drive.

Disaster preparedness

A representative from the American Red Cross will present a program on disaster preparedness from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 8 at Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade Lane. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Half-dollar sale

The Pine/Strawberry Thrift Store will have shoes, slippers, purses and sweat shirts and pants (no sets) on sale for 50 cents each Wednesday, March 9 through Saturday, March 12.

Beginning Wednesday, March 16, there will be a bag sale on garments for $2 a bag. On Wednesday, March 23, remaining winter clothing will be offered at $1 per bag.

The store is located at 3916 N. Highway 87 in Pine, and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

Fudge and salsa sale to benefit MHA

A large selection of The Salsa King’s award-winning salsa and America’s best fudge will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, March 10 at the Payson Regional Medical Center lobby.

Fudge flavors include chocolate, walnut, maple, peanut butter, with pecan caramel clusters, almond bark, cinnamon nuts, sweet roasted nuts and lots more. Salsa flavors include Garlic Passion, Just Peachy Pineapple, and Chipotle Black Bean and Corn, to name just a few.

Also available will be personalized mugs on the spot and 6-piece bed sets for only $22 (sized for California king, king and queen mattresses).

Tax law seminar

Come to a seminar at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 10 to learn about how the new tax law affects estate plans; integrating IRAs into an estate plan; and how to provide bulletproof creditor protection for children.

Community Breakfast

Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church is hosting a community breakfast from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., Friday, March 11 at 507 W. Wade Lane. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, coffee and juice.

Rim County residents and visitors are invited to join us for food and fellowship. A free will offering will be accepted.

The church will host a breakfast on the second Friday of every month from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. For details, call (928) 474-5440.
