Payson Regional Medical Center (PRMC) was chosen by consumers in a statewide survey as the fifth best small hospital in the state for 2011.

The annual survey is conducted by Ranking Arizona magazine, the largest business opinion poll in Arizona.

Ranking Arizona is based purely on voters’ opinion.

Participants vote based on quality of product, service and who they would recommend doing business with.

The responses are then assembled and “ranked” according to their total number of votes.

The top vote-getting hospital in the small-hospital acute care category was Mercy Gilbert Medical Center with 165 beds.

This was the first time PRMC, which has 44 beds, was selected.

In 2010, PRMC was selected by Thomson Reuters, one of the world’s largest research organizations, as a Top 100 Hospital in the country.

The hospital was also recognized in 2006 as a top hospital.

Voting for the 2012 Best of Arizona is now open at
