To help prepare the members of its congregation and their friends and neighbors for emergency situations, the Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church is hosting a program by the Red Cross.
It will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 8 in the church fellowship hall at 507 W. Wade Lane, Payson.
The event is free and open to anyone interested in attending.
Participants will learn how to make a disaster supplies kit that can sustain an individual for three days; discuss how making an evacuation plan will help give the best possible response to disasters such as floods, extreme heat, home fires, chemical spills, etc.; identify how local authorities will give notice and how to get important information during an emergency or disaster.
For more information, call Karen Schwenke at (928) 474-2797.
