The Sons of the Pioneers will present a concert at the Payson High School Auditorium at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 26. Tickets purchased in advance are $20. At the door, admission will be $25. Tickets are available from the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce, Scoops Ice Cream and Espresso, Payson Athletic Club and Bob’s Western Wear.

Acoustic concert

An evening of live acoustic music will be presented from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, March 25 at the East West Exchange Bookstore, 100 N. Tonto St., Payson

Joanie Smith will perform with Dale Knighton and Gerry Reynolds, presenting a blend of classic ballads, rock, jazz and some country. A suggested donation of $10 is requested at the door.

Seating is limited to 70. An RSVP can be sent to gerry-reynolds@hotmail.com.

Brush pit schedule

This coming weekend, the Regional Payson Area Project… for a Fire Wise Rim Country (RPAP) will be staffing free brush drop-off points at the following locations, weather permitting:

Saturday, March 26 the Blattner Pit will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., it is located at Milepost 259.7 on Highway 260, east of Payson.

Sunday, March 27 the Pine Pit will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., it is located .7 of a mile east of Highway 87 on Control Road, south of Pine.

All RPAP free drop-off locations are for brush, leaves, pine needles, trimmings, and other vegetative materials only. Properly bagged Yellow Starthistle, or other listed noxious weed species will also be accepted and will be burned. No household garbage, construction debris, or other items will be accepted.

 RPAP brush pits are intended for the use of private citizens who are working to clear their properties for wildfire risk reduction and to create defensible space around their homes. They are not intended for commercial use, and use by commercial haulers is prohibited.                                                                   

Transformational Kinesiology Workshop  

A Transformational Kinesiology Workshop will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 26 at the East West Exchange Bookstore, 100 N. Tonto St., Payson.

A suggested donation of $10 to $35 is requested at the door.

Transformational Kinesiology (TK®) is an essential form of kinesiology that uses muscle testing in a goal-centered process.  Muscle testing will be used to explore and identify limiting beliefs, old decisions and conclusions, emotional attachments and concerns, and physical conditions related to the group goal about receiving more joy in life. The end result will be the balancing and resolution of these aspects to enable participants to take steps toward accomplishing their desires.

Jam session

The Payson Elks Lodge, 1206 N. Beeline Highway, will hold an impromptu Jam Session from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, March 26. Bring an instrument or just come to hear some great music from local musicians. The Elks welcome guests to this event,  

Awakening the Dreamer

Rim Country Transition Town Initiative presents the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 26 at the East West Exchange Bookstore, 100 N. Tonto St., Payson. A $5 donation at the door is recommended. The Awakening the Dreamer Mission is to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on the planet. Join this 3-hour workshop designed to awaken and inspire people to take action in pursuit of a fair, peaceful and sustainable future.

Sons of the Pioneers perform

The Sons of the Pioneers will present a concert at the Payson High School auditorium at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 26.

Tickets purchased in advance are $20. At the door, admission will be $25.

Tickets are available from the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce, Scoops Ice Cream and Espresso, the Payson Athletic Club and Bob’s Western Wear.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Payson High School Student Government.

Family concert

Payson’s newest coffee house, Uptown Espresso, is presenting a music event for the entire family at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 26. Uptown Espresso is located at 612 N. Beeline Highway in Payson.

The performers for the evening will include the popular Payson music group Anything Goes performing a variety of popular tunes and Wayne Todd, who will be performing gospel and country music. The group Anything Goes and Wayne Todd are known for their performances on First Fridays in Payson at the Payson Senior Center and various festivals.

A $5 donation at the door is suggested.
