The PAWS in the Park organization is starting a campaign to raise funds to provide non-lethal solutions to prevent over-population by assisting area pet owners with affordable spaying and neutering their pets.
The first fund-raising event for the campaign will be an afternoon tea at 2 p.m., Friday, May 6 at the newly refurbished clubhouse at the Payson Golf Course.
Members of the Payson Choral Society will serenade guests. The menu will include petite sweets; chicken, cranberry and pecan croissants; salmon puffs; pastries; cream cheese open face sandwiches; and fresh fruit prepared by Teri McKee Catering. Vita-Mart will provide teas and coffee will also be available.
There will be an optional hat contest for guests, with prizes awarded for the most creative, largest, smallest and funniest hats.
Tickets are $25 per person. Call Julie at (928) 951-4884 or Phyllis at (928) 472-4716 for reservations as space is limited.
