Very dry conditions continue to exist in our area with winds not prevailing. Our highs will continue to be in the mid 70s and lows continuing to rise in the 40s with clear skies for the near future. The Forest Service fire danger sign is set to “High.”

A fire called the Mogollon Fire started this afternoon on the Black Mesa Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. The fire is located approximately two miles north of the Mogollon High School in Heber.

The cause is being investigated with juniper and grass burning at this time with no structures currently threatened. The size of the fire is approximately two to three acres.

Resources on scene are two engines with a dozer and other resources were called. Winds Tuesday were calm aiding in fighting the fire. As of Wednesday morning, no further information was available. No visible smoke could be seen in that area from the Heber Overgaard area at that time.
