Regarding your article this past Tuesday titled “Neighbors once again protest zone change.” I’m one of those neighbors who is objecting. I, along with many of my neighbors have lived by the R1-90 (two-acre minimum) zoning rules established for this area.
We have paid money to put in necessary infrastructure, such as sewers and roads (Tyler Parkway). Now when more than 80 percent of the property owners in this subdivision have lived by the two-acre minimum rule and would prefer it to remain such, there is one neighbor that wants to change the rules. That neighbor wants to sub-divide their property into one-acre parcels in order to maximize their profit. To me that’s like having the home team in a ball game change the rules of the game in the bottom of the ninth inning because they don’t like the score.
