Adult Men’s and Women’s Softball

Registration: through June 9

Games: June 20 to mid August

Fee: $275 per team, plus an optional ASA registration fee of $23

Must be 16 years or older to play in these leagues

Adult Coed Sand Volleyball 4-on-4

Registration: through June 3

Games: June 13 to July 18 on Monday nights

Fee: $100 per team

Must be 16 years or older to play

2011 Rim View Classic Softball Tournament — June 18 and 19

This tournament is open to adult teams in Coed and Men’s and Women’s divisions

Fee: $300 dollars for pre-registered ASA teams; $325 dollars for unregistered ASA teams

Deadline: June 10, three-game guarantee

Outdoor Recreation

Fly-fishing 101 and 102 Class

Date: May 21

Time: 9 a.m. to noon; 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Place: Green Valley Park

Fee: $10 per person for both classes

Info: Hands-on fly-fishing class, will teach proper technique, show how to set-up equipment and cast a rod. Both beginners and experienced fishermen can take advantage of this informative and practical course.

Dutch Oven Cooking Class

Date: May 28

Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Place: Rumsey Park, Ramada 4

Fee: $45

Info: Learn to prepare delicious dishes, for your family and friends while you are camping.

Summer Recreation Program

Dates: Monday through Thursday for two, three-week sessions

Session 1: June 6 through June 23

Session 2: July 5 through 21 (except first week of July, program will be Tuesday to Friday due to 4th of July holiday)

Time: 8 a.m. to noon

Ages: Children entering first through sixth grades

Cost: $75 per session, per child, snacks included. Register now as space is limited

Location: Julia Randall Elementary gymnasium and Rumsey Park

Information: Last week of the program will be held at Rumsey Park, Ramada 5, July 18 through 21.

PATS Hike

Boulders Loop Trail

Date: May 21

Time: 8 a.m.

Place: Meet at the Monument Peak Trailhead

Fee: Free

Information: Moderate level, three-mile hike. Participants will walk down Granite Dells Road to get to the trailhead at Boulders Loop.

Gary Hardt Memorial Spring Rodeo

Dates: May 19, 20 and 21

Place: Payson Event Center

Information: Women’s Cactus Series Rodeo at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 19; regular rodeo, 7 p.m., Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21. Youth events of Mutton Bustin’ and Steer Riding included in performances Friday and Saturday. Rodeo Dance at Ox Box Saloon to follow Friday and Saturday performances.

Mountain High Games

Date: June 3 through 5

Place: Payson Event Center

Sprint Triathlon

Date: June 11

Place: Rumsey Park

Fee: $50 individual $75 team

Ages: 15 and older

Information: The event consists of a 50-yard swim, 15-mile bike ride and 5K run. Register early. Top 150 finishers receive participation medals.

Payson Event Center

7D Barrel and Pole Series

Information: Parks, Recreation and Tourism will be sponsoring this equestrian event on Wednesday nights. The books open at 4:30 p.m. Time-only run 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.; $3 per run. Competition starts at 6 p.m. Entry fee is $8 per event. Side jackpot is $5, with 50 percent payout. Jackpot fee must be paid in cash.
