A brush fire is currently burning off the side of Highway 87, 19 miles south of Payson.
The fire started around 1:20 p.m. near milepost 231, 5 miles south of the State Route 188 turnoff, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
It is unknown how the fire started.
Be prepared for slow travel in the area.
