The gorgeous early to mid-week calm, warm days are predicted to give way to clear but windy conditions over the weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of northeastern Arizona that includes Heber Overgaard and the Mogollon Rim. A series of low pressure troughs is predicted to bring strong winds and may lead to wind advisories and exceed fire weather thresholds. A fire weather watch has been issued along with the wind advisory to extend through our weekend.

The Ponderosa Lions Club is sponsoring a benefit “Casino Night” that is being held Saturday, May 28 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Wild Women’s Saloon at Bison Ranch. They will have the games Blackjack, Texas Hold-em, and Roulette.

Other prizes include Diamondback tickets, Phoenix Suns memorabilia, a handmade raggedy quilt, and poker sets. There will be a no-host bar.
