The Arizona Department of Transportation will reduce Highway 87 to one lane in each direction at Airport Road in Payson from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 31 through Wednesday June 8.
The lane closures will provide a safe work zone as workers perform the final paving, utility work, and on-site improvements of the Airport Road roundabout project.
Airport Road and Airline Boulevard will also be intermittently closed at times. While the closures are in effect, a clearly marked detour will guide traffic safely through the work zone to adjacent properties. Business access will remain open at all times.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
