There is a definite nip in the air. In fact, by this weekend it is supposed to be downright cold.
My husband and I made a fire in our pit Halloween night to keep warm as the neighborhood kids came by for their treats. The costumes were very colorful and even the adults had costumes on.
We sat around the fire with spiced cider and shivered a lot.
Most residents in the Village are prepared for the cold weather since most of them have already got their winter supply of wood and have most of it chopped up and ready for the wood stoves. The propane companies have been checking propane levels and are busy delivering the propane for the upcoming colder weather.

Leadership classes are being offered for Leadership I and Leadership II. The #I class will start on Nov. 12 and 13. The #II class will start on Dec. 3 and 4.

Keep in mind that the administrative office in Star Valley will be closed for Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11.
The monthly fire board meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the Star Valley station. The meeting is open to the public and questions and comments are welcome.
The hose testing for all five-inch hoses for all fire departments will be on Saturday, Nov. 5 in back of the Bashas’ Market. Stop by and watch the action. Just don’t get wet.
The auxiliary will not be holding any monthly meetings until April 2012.

The Fireflies are still working on gathering recipes for their upcoming cookbook, “Fireflies Can Cook.”
