Payson Mayor Kenny Evans will be part of the Nov. 11 ceremony held in tribute to Rim Country veterans at the Payson High School Auditorium. The program starts at 11 a.m.
The Town of Payson Veterans Day program is at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11 at the Payson High School Auditorium. Based on the theme, “Thank You and Welcome Home Veterans,” the program will include music, addresses by community leaders and refreshments.
Refreshments will be served prior to the program, which opens with welcoming remarks, followed by Presentation of the Colors by the Payson Military Honor Guard and invocation. Payson Mayor Kenny Evans, Payson Police Chief Don Engler and Payson Fire Chief Marty deMasi will address the gathering.
The program will next feature tributes by students from the Payson High School Drama Department, presentations by other students and music by members of the Payson Choral Society. There will be a medley of service hymns, singing of “Amazing Grace,” “Taps,” a benediction and closing remarks.
The Payson Choral Society will be part of the Nov. 11 ceremony held in tribute to Rim Country veterans at the Payson High School Auditorium. The program starts at 11 a.m.
A special presentation is also planned for the ceremony and afterward the area’s classic car club members will be taking a select number of veterans to lunch.
The public is encouraged to attend this special program and its tributes to veterans from throughout the Rim Country.
Other Veterans Day programs
Elks host veterans
The Payson Elks Lodge, 1206 N. Beeline Hwy., is hosting area veterans at dinner Friday, Nov. 11.
Cocktail service starts at 4 p.m.; a ceremony will be held at 5 p.m., with a buffet dinner at 5:30 p.m. for $7 per person — veterans eat for free.
A blind auction, raffle and more, plus karaoke with Larry Ellis will follow.
Special honorees will be Butch and Kathy Klein and Lud and Marian Kaftan of Payson Supply Line.
Rim Country residents of all ages know the importance of honoring the service provided by the area’s veterans and do their part in every Veterans Day celebration.
Celebrating veterans
The Crossroads Church invite Rim residents and visitors to visit from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11 for its celebration of the special contributions current military personnel and veterans have made to the country.
There will be a special program honoring military personnel and veterans along with prayers for their success and safety. The program will honor all the branches of the military and the men and women who are serving and have served to keep our great country free and safe.
Crossroads Church is at 114 E. Cedar Lane in Payson.
