After a day and a half of deliberations, a jury has found Dr. Michael Lowe not guilty.
The Gila County Attorney's Office charged Lowe with theft from a vulnerable adult and he could have spent several years in jail if convicted. The state alleged that Lowe, while in a position of trust and confidence, unlawfully took control of property and assets belonging to his patient Alicia Christopherson.
However, after hearing testimony from several dozen witnesses over the course of the seven-day trial, a jury came back Tuesday afternoon with a not guilty verdict. Lowe testified that he never asked Christopherson to give him her estate, she choose to do it of her own free will.
