Masked Man Robs Circle K On Beeline Highway

The Payson Police Department says it needs the public’s help in catching a man that robbed a Payson Circle K last week who may have been armed.

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, a man walked into the Circle K at 606 N. Beeline Highway around 11 p.m. and demanded money from the clerk.

The robber was wearing a disguise that covered most of his body and he indicated that he was carrying a gun, said Payson Police Det. Matt Van Camp.

Van Camp would not describe what the man was wearing, saying it could affect the case. The robber indicated to the only clerk working that he had a gun, although the employee never saw a weapon, Van Camp said.

“The way he was acting, anyone would have believed he had a weapon,” he said.

There was no one else in the store at the time and the employee was not injured.

The clerk gave the man what money was in the register and the man ran off on foot.

There were no vehicles in the store’s parking lot at the time and a K-9 search of the surrounding neighborhood turned up no clues to the man’s direction of travel.

The PPD is asking anyone with information to call Van Camp at (928) 474-5242, ext 251.
