Start Making Those Christmas Gift Lists

If you haven’t made that list of recipients and ideas for their gifts, get it down on paper now. The Rim Country has a bounty of craft fairs and more to visit where you can find that one-of-a-kind treasure for every special loved one and friend on that list.

Keep in mind this is just an initial listing of all the holiday shopping events planned for the coming weeks. Watch the Review “Getaway” and Payson Roundup “Almanac” pages as more opportunities for gift-getting are announced.

Pine-Strawberry Christmas Boutique

The Pine-Strawberry Arts & Crafts Guild will be open every weekend in November. The annual Christmas Boutique features handmade Christmas ornaments, gifts and holiday decor created by local artists and crafters in the Pine-Strawberry Arts & Crafts Guild.

The annual Christmas Boutique is in the Craft Room at the Pine Community Center every weekend in November, starting at 10 a.m. The remaining dates are Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19-20; and Nov. 26-27. The Pine Community Center is located at 3886 N. Highway 87 in Pine.

Holiday Craft and Bake Sale

The Women’s Ministries of Payson First Assembly of God, 1100 W. Lake Drive (the church at Green Valley Park), will hold its annual Holiday Craft and Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19.

Entry to the sales area is from the upper level parking area. The sale will feature a variety of delicious baked goods, handmade quilts, throws, baby blankets, crafts, holiday items, curios and more.

The public is invited to come and do their holiday shopping early. All proceeds go to charities.

The gift of books

The Library Friends of Payson Bookstore will feature an extensive collection of Christmas fiction, music, cookbooks, craft books and more. There will also be bookstore gift certificates available for only $3 — these make the perfect gifts for those hard to shop for people on your list and make great stocking stuffers as well.

All hardback books are two for the price of one throughout November. As always, the second book must be of equal or lesser value than the first. Many of these volumes are current bestsellers in like-new condition. Since the hardback books range in price from $3 to $1, this is an extraordinary opportunity to stock up on inexpensive Christmas gifts.

Bookstore stock is constantly changing and while not everything will be offered at this special price, there are plenty of other titles from which to choose.

All Bookstore proceeds directly support the library.

The LFOP Bookstore is located to the right of the circulation desk just inside the Payson Public Library, 328 N. McLane Road.  For more information, visit the Library Friends of Payson Web site at

GCC Art Show and Sale

Student artwork — from stained glass, drawings, digital photography, Photoshop, watercolor, oil painting, printmaking, ceramics, paper crafts, folk art, jewelry, sculpture and quilted clothing – will be on display.

The GCC Payson campus is located at 201 N. Mudsprings Road.
