Crafters Cubbies is sponsoring a community food and toy drive through Christmas.
Residents are encouraged to stroll through a “lighted Christmas forest,” at 616 N. Beeline Highway, and leave nonperishable food, toys or dog food under one of the trees.
Seventeen Rim Country businesses have donated trees and decorated them with a unique theme, creating a forest of trees in the Swiss Village shops, said Rebecca Acord, owner of Crafters Cubbies.
“We are taking advantage of the Swiss Village lighting to give back to the local food banks and animal shelters,” she said.
The Christmas Forest opens Black Friday and will be open seven days a week through Christmas.
For more information, call Acord at (928) 978-0640.
Businesses that have donated a tree include: Rim Country Power Sports, ReStore, Aussie Rescue, Dutch Jo Ranch, Crafters Cubbies, Arizona Mentor, Suddenlink, Prudential Realty, Back 2 Basics, Oasis Christian Bookstore, Walmart, Payson Elementary School and Rim Country Hay and Grain.
Food donations will go to the Payson Area Food Drive.
