Human Remains Found By Hunters In The Blue Ridge Area

A group of hunters found a human skull in the Blue Ridge area Sunday and authorities say they are looking for more bones that may help identify who the person was and how they ended up in the forest.

Hunters found the skull off of Forest Service Road 142D by Clear Creek Canyon and Bear Canyon on Good Enough Ridge in the Blue Ridge area, according to the  Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.

The skull is most likely that of a white or Hispanic male ranging in age from 40 to 80 years old, according to the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Coconino County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the remains and are hoping to locate additional bones that may assist in identifying the individual.

Currently, the mode and manner of death are undetermined. Anyone who locates what they believe to be skeletal remains or other human body parts in the area is asked to call the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 226-5089.
