Monument Peak Trail hike
The Payson Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department is sponsoring a hike of the Monument Peak Trail beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 22.
Hikers will enjoy spectacular views of the Mogollon Rim and the Granite Dells. Participants will meet at the Monument Peak Trailhead, 3.3 miles east of Highway 260 on Granite Dells Road, where the hike begins and ends. The trail is easy, level and is three miles roundtrip.

Fall Outdoor Photography
Learn simple techniques to capture the reality of what you’re seeing with your camera. Participants must be familiar with the use of their camera and able to hike half a mile.
Registration is taking place now through Oct. 28. The class will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5 in Pine.
Participants will meet in the parking lot of the Ponderosa Market on the lefthand corner of Highway 87 and Hardscrabble Road.
The fee is $15 per person.

Turkey Trot 5k Run
Register now for the Payson Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department’s annual 5k run beginning and ending at Green Valley Park.
The run, known at the Turkey Trot 5k, will be Saturday, Nov. 19. Check-in is at 8 a.m.
The cost is $25 per person and registration is taking place now.
There is no T-shirt guarantee for late registrants, however day-of registration is available.
