The Mogollon Montoneras would like to thank the participants for a great gymkhana series this year which was held in Pine at the Mary Ellen Randall Arena.
Saturday, Oct. 15, we held the Lacey Balmer-Oldland Memorial Gymkhana. This memorial is held in remembrance of Lacey Balmer who was raised in Pine and was a very large participant in 4-H and FFA.
Lacey influenced many young students and was a great mentor. Lacey married into a ranching family in Colorado and was tragically killed in a horse accident. The Mogollon Montoneras hold this memorial to remind riders that no matter how experienced they are, that they always need to be alert and aware when riding.
This year we had 27 participants along with raffle items donated by Moose Mountain Gifts and Antiques in Pine, jewelry by Lynn Gartner, and several other items donated, we were able to raise money for scholarships in Lacey’s memory.
Again, thanks to everyone.
