Hello again, fellow Creekers.
Phyllis, the current president of the Fire Belles, asked that I get the word out. The Fire Belles are looking for new officers.
The statement from some members of the communities in our district other than Christopher Creek rarely ever hear about activities such as this. So, we wanted to make sure everyone had an opportunity to get involved.
Christopher Kohl’s Fire Belles are looking for new officers for 2012. Please submit nominations via phone call to Phyllis at 928-478-0976. If nobody answers the phone, please be sure to leave a message. Nominations are due by Sept. 19, and yes you can volunteer, we would love to have you join us.
Pancake Breakfast Benefit
Also, don’t forget the Pancake Breakfast Benefit at the fire station from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3. It’s a breakfast, raffle and silent auction. The cost for breakfast is only $5 per adult and $2.50 per child.
Bring your family, friends and neighbors for a terrific fun time. A special thanks ahead of time to all the local businesses for their donations to this great event.
The Valley is still reporting record high temperatures. They almost hit 120 degrees last week. So, the summer visitors that are so vital to the economy, are lucky enough to have an extended season, which is a benefit to all the businesses and the community at large that depend on their business and tax revenue.
A large number of these summer visitors are also terrific patrons of events like the previously mentioned Pancake Breakfast.
Thank goodness people like getting out of the heat to enjoy nicer temperatures and enjoy the peace and quiet that Christopher Creek is known for.
As always, I do need your help with content and stories! For anyone wanting to submit information from the Christopher Creek area for inclusion in our weekly article, please e-mail me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Any submitted pictures must be full-size (typically around 1MB per picture). The cutoff time for inclusion in Friday’s article is close of business on Monday.
Thanks again for reading the column.
