Rv Park Wants To Amend Its Internal Zoning Code

A pavement top coat was added with gravel to Buckskin Canyon Road starting at the south end of Capps School extending onto Artist’s Draw Road ending at Pine Rim Road. Once the gravel has been pressed into the asphalt, a sweeper will dust off the excess gravel, officials say.

The respite of moisture early this week brought warm, sunny, and sometimes hot afternoons.

An influx of moisture from the southwest continues our afternoon thunderstorm influence through the weekend. Highs will attain lower 80s with lows in the mid 50s.

The Pinecrest Lake RV Resort homeowners association has requested an amendment to the internal zoning of their RV Park.

Over the years residents have added “Arizona Rooms,” decks, and/or storage buildings less than 144 square feet, meaning no permit was required for such additions to their lots.

Some storage sheds have been converted into working garages, laundry rooms, and other purposes than originally intended. The staff notes that placement of these structures has had an impact on an adjacent lot. The requested amendment only applies to new units and existing units are “grandfathered.”

The proposed increased easement requirements are as follows, 15 feet from the street in front of lot, 10 feet from the left side of lot, 5 feet from the right side and rear of lot. This applies to any additions to the unit itself.

On Saturday, Sept. 3, there will be a Ken Hawkins 5K fun run or one mile walk. Registrations are accepted the day of the event. It is $30 for the 5K and $20 for the walk.

Race day registrations open at 6 a.m., 5K race begins at 7 a.m., and the one mile walk will commence at 7:15 a.m.

Both races start and end at Mogollon High School. A pancake breakfast for donations will start at 7:30 a.m. All proceeds from the Ken Hawkins 5K Memorial Run will benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Ken’s honor and memory.
