There will be vendors with goodies for both pets and their humans.
Under the Big Top, pets and their people will compete from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for ribbons and prizes in contests, such as amazing pet tricks, costume contest, fastest tail wagger and best vocalist. Games, from 12:45 p.m. to 2 p.m., will include favorites: musical chairs, costume race, obstacle course and the My Dog Can Do That Challenge event. There will be ribbons and prizes for all participants.
Mini-seminars, from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will be short sessions on topics such as grooming, teeth brushing, pet first aid, spay and neuter facts and responsible pet ownership.
The Humane Society of Central Arizona will have dogs available for adoption at the event.
There will also be agility and flyball competitions and demonstrations in the adjoining ball fields in Rumsey Park. There will be an agility fun run where participants can pay a $10 fee and run their dog through an obstacle course. For additional family dogs the fee is $5 per dog, which allows each dog unlimited course runs.
Bring the dog on a 4- to 6-foot leash (no retractables) and plan to enjoy a day full of fun and activities.
