Chamber Holds Oktoberfest This Weekend

The rainy weather we received this week will give way to partly cloudy skies this weekend.

Precipitation amounts totaled from 1/4 inch to 1 inch over the last week. These amounts vary depending on what area of Heber Overgaard. The temperature forecast is for highs during the day to reach the mid-70s and lows in the upper-40s through this weekend.

On Sunday, Sept. 11 at 8 a.m. the American Legion Post 86 of Heber Overgaard held a vigil with a seven-member honor guard and a flag-raising ceremony.

The Heber Overgaard Fire Department, Arizona DPS and members of the community turned out for the event.

Heber Overgaard Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual “Oktoberfest” Saturday, Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday Sept. 18 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Bison Ranch in Overgaard.

They will be featuring the third annual Classic Car Show presented by the Pack Car Club. There will be voting by spectators that includes the following categories: Best of Show, Best Interior, Best Paint and Best Engine. There will be 17 classifications and first- and second-place trophies will be given out in each classification. Family activities will be on hand as well that include a kids’ play area, pony rides, kids’ train ride and a large arts and crafts show. A $5 parking donation will benefit next year’s July 4th fireworks fund.
