Friends of the Poor Walk
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will host the 4th annual “Friends of the Poor” walk in Payson Saturday, Sept. 24. Participants will walk in solidarity throughout the country to increase awareness and raise money to assist those in need.
The walk will start at 7 a.m. at the Edward Jones office in the Sawmill Crossing. All money raised will stay in Payson to help the need of those in the area. Fall Apple Festival
The Fall Apple Festival takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 23 at the Pine Strawberry Community Center. Enjoy food, vendors, music, storytelling, children’s crafts, antique tractors and on Saturday only, a chili cook-off. The free event is sponsored by the Pine Strawberry Business Community
Wildlife Watching 101/Wildlife Viewing Basics
Wildlife Viewing Basics will be taught from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 24 at the parks office in Green Valley Park. Learn where and when to look for wildlife, as well as steps for successful wildlife viewing in the Rim Country from Joe Yarchin, urban and watchable wildlife program manager for the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
