Hello again, fellow Creekers.
I bumped into Jeff and Dee Daniels the other day and they reminded me that the Holiday food drive has started. Donations of food (turkeys, canned food, holiday favorites, etc.) can be dropped off at the Tall Pines Market, the Landmark @ the Creek or the Christopher-Kohl’s fire station. All donations will be delivered to folks in time for both the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Pancake breakfast fund-raiser. A lot of people stayed for the raffle. Kids would draw a name. He’ll have to stay in an unmarked vehicle.
A huge thank-you from the CKFD to the community. The support of the community more than anything is what matters (so if anything, dollar amount is more of a scorecard and a reflection of support); $1,500 was raised. Everyone pitched in. Chief Rob Jarvis won the free cabin stay.
As a reminder, Arizona State and Gila County have a leash law. This means that all dogs must be leashed anytime they are outside their home.
A good friend of mine asked that I please mention this as unfortunately her little dog was attacked by another dog.
Had this other dog been properly leashed, it would not have been able to attack her dog in the manner it did.
So, please obey the leash law and it is the Gila County Sheriff that enforces leash laws for our area should an unfortunate circumstance arise.
Thanks again for reading the column.
