Several special programs are planned at the Payson Regional Medical Center Senior Circle in the coming weeks.
This week, Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m. to noon, there will be a program on Medicare Fraud for the Lunch and Learn session.
Donna Card, benefits specialist from the Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens, will be the guest speaker.
She will provide a brief overview of the agency’s services, benefits and entitlements for Medicare beneficiaries. Her main topic will be Medicare Fraud.
She will talk about health care fraud, discuss fraud’s cost, define what constitutes fraud/abuse, and provide information and material to help you become a “Fraud Detective.”
Members of the Senior Circle will welcome Dr. Kevin and Dr. Katharine Raymer to Payson at the Wednesday, Oct. 5 Lunch and Learn program, held from 11 a.m. to noon.
Skilled surgeon Katharine Raymer, M.D. is a longtime Arizona resident. She attended Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona College of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Kansas - Wichita School of Medicine. She is joining the team at Payson Surgery Associates at 803 S. Ponderosa St., Ste. C.
Dr. Kevin Raymer is board certified in family medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and completed his medical training at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He also completed the Via Christi Family Residency Program and the International Family Medicine Fellowship at the same facility. Dr. Raymer joined the Payson Healthcare Management team at 126 E. Main St., Ste B.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so the Lunch and Learn program from 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Oct. 12 will include a discussion about breast cancer, its detection and treatment.
The Senior Circle is at 215 N. Beeline Highway, Payson. The public is welcome to attend programs, but reservations are required.
