Payson Unified School District will offer tuition-based all-day kindergarten, Kinder-Plus, for the 2012-2013 school year.

Kinder-Plus provides extra reading, library and computer lab time and guaranteed class size of no more than 20 students in addition to the regular kindergarten half-day.

The tuition fee is $185 per month for 10 months.

Interested parents may pre-register with a $50 deposit now through May 18.

Deposits can be made in person at Payson Elementary School between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily, or by credit card at www.phsbookstore.com.

A lottery for Kinder-Plus will be held Tuesday, May 23, for a place in all-day Kinder-Plus.

For every 20 students registering for all-day Kinder-Plus, an all-day class will be created.

Regular kindergarten registration for 2012-2013 will start May 9 with “Lil’ Longhorn Roundup” at Payson Elementary School, 500 E. Rancho Road.

Children that will be 5 years old before Sept. 1, 2012 are eligible for kindergarten.

Registration requires birth certificate and immunizations that include 5-year-old shots.

All kindergarten classes are at Payson Elementary School. Transportation arrangements will be discussed at registration.
