On Saturday, March 3, the Friends of the Payson Library held its annual fund-raiser, the Taste of Rim, in the library. This event has been held for many years, and is a pleasant experience for those who participate.
Each chef does an incredible job showing off their skills and ideas, and all those who purchase tickets and eat certainly enjoy the food. We appreciate the kindness of these public-spirited businesses in helping us support the library.
Without the generous spirits of both chefs and ticket holders, the Friends of the Library would be without funds to continue the support of the library in the manner that has been sustained in the recent years as our economic downturn has affected overall funds for public entities.
The enthusiasm of the public in our silent auction is infectious. Many citizens and businesses donate items for the silent auction and in the past two years several of the professional sporting teams have also donated to the cause. In addition, the Payson Art League donated many paintings for the cause. The public, meaning the ticket-buyers, cheerfully bid on the items, and many a prize goes home with happy buyers.
In addition, the Roundup and KMOG provide excellent coverage of the event. We appreciate the generosity of all.
This letter is in appreciation to all of the Payson area citizens who help make this event successful. Your giving hearts help the Library Friends of Payson keep new books coming into the library as well as movies and music.
Thank you so very much.
