Pine Creek Canyon Road will be under construction from May 1 through Oct. 31, the Gila Public Works Department announced this week.
The project includes widening and paving approximately 5,000 feet of Pine Creek Canyon Road, starting from the intersection with Highway 87. The project also includes water main replacement and installation of nine fire hydrants, funded by the Pine-Strawberry Water Improvement District.
The Phase I installation of water mains will take approximately 75 days. Phase II of the project will take approximately 90 days to complete the roadway and drainage improvements.
Gila County has established a project phone number and Web site for regular updates. The phone number is (928) 472-5300 and the Web site is http://www.pine creekroad.com.
Managers will regularly post project updates and road closures.
Gila County will use its half-cent Transportation Excise Tax to finance the project. For more information, contact Steve Sanders, deputy public works director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (928) 402-8530.
