Shepherd Is Right Man For Job As Sheriff

Editor:

I have sure heard a lot of promises from Darrell Stubbs in his second attempt to run for sheriff. The interesting statements he is making seem to me to be sure a lot of misinformation.

My family has been in Gila County since 1887 and has a long history in law enforcement in this county. My grandfather was a federal marshal, constable, and died as a deputy sheriff in Payson. His brother Tom was the sheriff of Gila County in 1917-1918. His other brother Bud was constable in Payson. I am retired from DPS, and was the Payson constable 13 years.

Times have changed over the years, the job of sheriff now requires a person with years of law enforcement experience, working your way up the ranks; college is a must in business administration.

Know-how to write a budget, and federal grants, and know-how to be an administrator. Adam Shepherd, has all of these qualifications. But Adam talks about the sheriff’s office and his abilities. I have yet to see or hear any of these qualifications from Darrell Stubbs. Why? The right man for this highly held position is Adam Shepherd! Action not talk.
