The Optimist Club gave children visions of sugar plums with its Candyland theme.

Each year it seems the Rim Country pulls out more stops to make the annual Light Parade bigger and better.

This year the parade had more than two-dozen entries, including the Payson High School Marching Band, Sunshine Cleaning, many service clubs and non-profit groups, a host of local businesses and the ever-popular Home Depot entry.

The Payson High School Marching Band got help from fellow students to carry its banner at the Light Parade.

Children gushed over Santa and held out hands to grab candy given out by parade entrants, while adults warmed themselves by sipping hot chocolate near braziers burning bright.

DJ Craig spun tunes and announced floats on the Sawmill Theatre side of Main Street, while the Oxbow hosted the Payson Parks, Tourism, and Recreation Department’s announcers.
