The Rim Country is in store for slushy wet weather later this week.
The National Weather Service predicts a low pressure system moving through northern Arizona Thursday and Friday will bring widespread rain and snow.
In Payson, things should pick up Thursday afternoon with gusty winds turning into rain and possible snow showers later that evening.
Snow levels could fall to 4,500 feet by Friday morning with Pine and the Mogollon Rim the most likely to see snowfall.
The temperature will hover around 45 degrees in the day and as low as 25 degrees Friday night.
The Weather Service said motorists should anticipate hazardous driving conditions during this time.
Monday brings a chance for more rain and snow as another system moves in.
