Help With House Lighting Contest Appreciated

The judges have finished their judging, and the numbers have been added up. All of the entrants presented their lighted fantasies, coordinated musical accompaniment, holiday-themed characters (including Santa falling down the chimney, and in the out-house) in a wonderful array of presentations. This year is special, as there were many houses, large and small, that did a great job of “Lighting the Rim” with their spirit and hard work.

In another article, you will see the top four winners (there was a tie for first) and the rest of the winners that made up this year’s competition. Here, all of the entrants are winners, and have presented at least two nights of light viewing. Take the time to read the list, arranged as they were judged (shortest routes), and get in the buggy and go look. This is a once a year opportunity to see great sights and get in the spirit of the season.

A huge thanks to H & H Heating & Cooling for sponsorship and getting me into my locked truck; the Payson Roundup for putting up the ads, taking applications, and printing the location map; to Rim Country Health for the van and drivers; to our judges — Herm Holtz, Mark Kotschedoff, Darlene Zacharias, Fred Eckle; and our drivers Rick Sokol (and Page) and Kit Baumer (and kids).

Get ready for next year; I know this year’s contestants are.
