Editor’s note: Susan Jacobson is the owner of an Enchanted Occasion, an event planning business. In this column, Jacobson will uncover hidden gems at local small businesses.

In my line of business, networking is everything. I love to visit businesses around Rim Country and find out what they are doing new or different.

The idea for this column started awhile back when I was enjoying ice cream at Scoops. Did you know that Scoops offers ice cream served in a trough?

It reminds me of childhood birthday parties at Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor. The trough comes in two sizes, eight scoops and 16, and includes whipped cream, chocolate and caramel toppings.

And did you know that they have six varieties of coffee, all locally roasted?

Another place I visited was Back to Basics health food store. Did you know they offer wheatgrass shots?

Employee Steve explained drinking a shot of the green stuff packs loads of vitamins.

Well, that is all for now, but I will be checking out businesses for my next column. If you are a business owner with a worthy “Did you know,” e-mail me at susan@an
