Want a fun new creative hobby that you can wear to show off to friends and family? Why not join in one or both of Leslie Peacock’s Wearable Art Classes at Gila Community College for the spring semester. Peacock is an award-winning wearable artist who willingly shares information about fabrics, threads and techniques while adding humor and fun to the class. Students will create beautiful, one-of-a-kind jackets or vests while sharing time with other like-minded students.
During the spring semester, students will be given the option of creating their own jacket or vest or Peacock will provide a kit of embroidered motifs along with teaching decorative stitching, using various threads and stitch combinations for the students to use as their creative nudge. The kit will also include some embellishing items for the students.
Either way, Peacock will work individually with each student to help create her work of art.
