Payson Elks

Elks members and guests are welcome to enjoy lunch at the Lodge from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday; Friday dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday dinner from noon to 5 p.m.

Basic refreshments are offered for sale at the Karaoke Night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday in February and during the Elks Jam Sessions, scheduled at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18 and 25. Every Sunday there is Bingo at 1 p.m. and a Pool Tournament at 4:30 p.m., with Happy Hour from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Elks members and guests are welcome at these events.

Veterans of Foreign Wars

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America will meet at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the American Legion Post #69, located at 709 E. Highway 260.

Payson Rimstones Rock Club

The Payson Rimstones Rock Club meets Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the Payson Public Library, 328 N. McLane Road, Payson. The board meeting is at 2:30 p.m., followed by the general meeting at 3:30 p.m. The group’s guest speaker will be Dana Lewis, owner of Vision Speaking Books in Pine. He will be speaking on Native American use of rocks, mineral and gems.

Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers meets at 5 p.m. every Wednesday at the Masonic Lodge, 200 E. Rancho Road (next to the fire station).

Rim Country Celts

The Rim Country Celts are inviting everyone who is interested to come to the Thursday, Feb. 9 meeting in the back room at the Crosswinds Restaurant. Dinner, ordered from the menu or select the Thursday special of spaghetti, is at 6 p.m.; at 6:45 p.m., there will be a short meeting and at 7:15 p.m. Toni Sarcinella will present a program on the history of the claddagh.

Community Breakfast

Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church is hosting a Community Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., Friday, Feb. 10 at 507 W. Wade Lane. The breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, coffee and juice.

P. E.O. meeting

Chapter DF of the P.E.O. Sisterhood meets at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 10 at the home of Carolyn Davis.

Judy Herbolsheimer will be assisting Mrs. Davis. Co-hostesses for the meeting will be Ruth Neigh and Nancy Hartley.

This group has no dues, and no elections.

Monday Morning Bowling has begun again; it is the first and third Mondays of the month.

The “Tuesday Morning Breakfast Bunch” meets at Tiny’s Restaurant every week at 9 a.m. to visit and plan future activities.

There will be a Valentine get-together at El Rancho Restaurant; order off the menu, which features American as well as Mexican food; 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14.
