While, the winner wishes to remain anonymous, another casino guest shared the following.
Susan Gonzalez of Payson wrote to the Roundup, “A couple hit a jackpot on a penny progressive slot machine at the casino.
“My husband and I witnessed this couple win this jackpot and spoke with them right after it happened and observed the procession. People playing at the casino were also in shock and were walking by and hugging and congratulating the couple at the big win.
“The couple was immediately surrounded by ground cones and caution-style yellow tape to enclose their machine area. The couple sat for quite some time while casino workers had to verify that the win was correct.
“The couple mentioned they were on a tight Social Security budget and the winning would help them pay off their home and help all of their grown children.
“The couple seemed very calm after winning the money and seemed very humble and almost in shock as to what was really happening.
“They said they had never won anything big before.
“The man mentioned he had to take a break at one point and go outside to cry in joy a few minutes and then he returned back inside the casino.”
This marks the 15th Gold Series top progressive prize since the game was introduced in 2009. The Gold Series line has awarded more than $800 million in prizes. The Gold Series currently consists of nine video titles and eight stepper titles.
