Lil’ Longhorn Wrestling Camp

This camp offers young wrestlers the opportunity to learn skills from the Payson High School coaches and players. The camp is for third- to eighth-graders and the cost is $25 per child. Registration closes Feb. 21, the camp is from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 21 to March 1 in the wrestling room at Wilson Dome on the PHS campus.

Spring Break Sports Camp

This camp is designed for kids to have some supervised outside activities over the spring break. Camp meets from 8 a.m. to noon March 12 to March 15 at Rumsey Park. The cost is $30 per child. Registration continues through March 8.

Spring Break Fundamentals

Basketball Academy

This very popular camp will be offered again the second week of spring break in the Payson High School Wilson Dome. Varsity coaches and players will be teaching and emphasizing fundamentals of basketball. The camp is from 9 a.m. to noon, March 19 to March 22 and all youngsters in third- to eighth-grade are invited to attend. Registration continues through March 12 and the cost is $35 per child.

Youth Soccer

Soccer season is almost upon us. This is the most popular sport in Payson. Don’t miss out, get registered today. All kids, ages 4 to high school seniors, are invited to participate. The cost is $30 per participant. Registration closes March 13, games will be from March 27 to May 17.


Lifeguard training

This course is designed to teach the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Upon successful completion of all written exams and water skills, this course certifies participants in the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and C.P.R./A.E.D. for the Professional Rescuer. This is a 31-hour course. Class size is limited, so register now. It costs $75 per person and will be offered March 9 through March 15.



A PATS Hike of Monument Peak Loop Trail is planned at 9 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 18.

This beautiful route features occasional views of the Rim, an easy terrain and a year-round spring. Wear hiking boots and bring water. The hike will be an easy three miles.

Participants should meet at the Monument Peak Trailhead, which is four miles east on Granite Dells Road (turn right at the light at Safeway on Highway 260).
