After a five-month search, the Mogollon Health Alliance has found a new chief executive officer in house.
Sanja S. Long was promoted from administrative assistant to CEO recently.
“Sanja has shown initiative and resourcefulness throughout the past few years as she assumed a leadership role in this dynamic organization,” said Gary Cordell, MHA board vice president.
Long has been with the MHA for three years. The MHA board interviewed several candidates for the position after Judy Baker stepped down after nearly 20 years with the non-profit group.
“Sanja’s caring nature in combination with her accounting and law degrees make her the right fit as Mogollon Health Alliance expands its programs in this caring community we call Payson,” said Kenny Evans, MHA board president and the Town of Payson’s mayor.
The MHA co-sponsors the spring Women’s Wellness Forum — coming up March 24 — and the winter Health and Care Fair.
The program has more than 100 auxiliary volunteers that fill a variety of roles at Payson Regional Medical Center and the Almost New Thrift Store.
MHA and the Auxiliary provide $20,000 each year in human health scholarships.
Other community programs and partnerships include the MHAX III Cardiac Rehabilitation Program with the Payson Athletic Club and free community CPR classes in conjunction with Payson Fire Department.
MHA is also home to the Gracie Lee Haught Children’s Memorial Fund whose mission is to promote and support the health, safety and wellness of local children.
