Moving quickly on the search for a new superintendent, the Payson Unified School Board hired a consulting firm at a special meeting Tuesday.
Karen Beckdar, of the Arizona School Boards Association, will help the board define what it and the community wants to see in a new superintendent then advertise for the position and present candidates for consideration. The school board hopes to have candidates before the end of the school year.
“The sooner we get people to know we are looking for a superintendent the better,” said Barbara Underwood, chair of the school board, “We’ll be the first in the line up for candidates to consider.”
On Saturday, Jan. 21, the school board will hold a meeting at the Payson Unified School District offices at 10 a.m. to discuss the hiring process. The meeting will focus on the board’s course of action, said Beckdar.
Earlier this week, Beckdar created a Web site to collect public input. Visit login.azsba.org/surveys to submit comments.
